The conference will take place online through Zoom on April 1, 2023. The conference will examine how Easter was celebrated and viewed from Late Antiquity throughout the medieval period. Every year this would be a high point of Christian life, and medieval people were keenly interested in many aspects of this event.

The Medieval Studies Program at Cornell is pleased to announce the 33rd Annual Medieval Studies Student Colloquium (MSSC), which takes the idea of “Lacunae” as its theme. The conference will be held virtually over Zoom on Saturday, March 11th, 2023.

material, and textual record.

The 22nd Annual Vagantes Conference on Medieval Studies invites abstracts from current graduate students and recently graduated MA students from all discipliners for papers on any topic related to the long Middle Ages and its study.

This symposium is directly linked to the project of a major exhibition to be held at the Museum of Fine Arts in Dijon in 2026 and which will be devoted to Burgundian sculpture from the 15th century. As such, it will also be an opportunity to organize a collective brainstorming on the synopsis of this upcoming exhibition and the issues it could raise (a workshop will thus be devoted to this reflection at the end of these three days of the colloquium).
