Lecture Series: European History, 1150-1550 Seminar Series at the Institute of Historical Research

All are welcome to attend the opening lecture of the 2018 autumn term for IHR’s seminar, European History, 1150-1550. Julien Théry ( University of Lyon) will present his lecture entitled, ‘The French Way. The Rift between The Papacy and Capetian Monarchy under Philip the Fair (1285-1314)’ this Thursday, 27th September.

Amelia Roché Hyde holds an MA from The Courtauld Institute of Art, where she studied cross-cultural artistic traditions of medieval Spain, taking an in-depth look at the context and role of Spanish ivories within sacred spaces. Her favorite medieval art objects are ones that are meant to be handled and touched, and she has researched ivories, textiles, and illuminated manuscripts at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The British Museum.
