The London Society for Medieval Studies is back for the new academic year!

We are very excited that our autumn programme of seminars will be commencing soon. Please find attached our full programme for the autumn and spring terms 2018-19. Make sure to get those dates into your diary!

Our first seminar of the academic year will be on Tuesday 2nd October at 7pm. We will be welcoming:

Dr Stephen Spencer, speaking on ‘Rewriting the Third Crusade: Ralph of Coggeshall’s Chronicon Anglicanum and the Evolution of Richard I’s Crusading Exploits’.

Location: Institute of Historical Research, Wolfson Room NB01, Senate House (located on Malet Street, London WC1E 7HU).

Amelia Roché Hyde holds an MA from The Courtauld Institute of Art, where she studied cross-cultural artistic traditions of medieval Spain, taking an in-depth look at the context and role of Spanish ivories within sacred spaces. Her favorite medieval art objects are ones that are meant to be handled and touched, and she has researched ivories, textiles, and illuminated manuscripts at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The British Museum. Amelia is the Research Assistant at The Met Cloisters.
